Differentiation for Lesson Plans A. If student does not have a computer, they do not have to make a CD (extra credit) for Romeo and Juliet soundtrack. They can draw and album cover. If not good at drawing, they can make a collage from pics and mags they cut out or do a stick figure drawing. B. Special Ed : 1. all notes that are dictated in class are either written on board or they get a handout of the lecture 2. given extra time to complete assignments, according to IEPs 3. extra time to complete quizzes 4. quizzes will come directly from the study guide and the instructions will be in clear, simple language 5. alternative assessments/rubrics/quizzes/assignments 6. guided writing worksheets 7. step-by-step instructions 8. other students in class can act as peer coaches: stronger students paired with struggling ones 9. encourage student reflection and self-advocacy 10. establish atmosphere where students who contribute feel valued and productive 11. visuals: movie clips for difficult scenes 12.
