(i.e. India and Pakistan) o Languages (derived from common colonial past) o Shared characteristics o Interactions or transactions of particular intensity For this analysis, we need a benchmark for intensity How much more do countries x, y, z interact with one another versus interaction with other countries Migration These transactions do not have to be economic o Postal transactions o Asia pacific is an open region Intra-regional transactions are increasing but are not exclusive This fact may or may not have institutional effects
