Course Description: In this course we first cover theory of the consumer and theory of the firm. We then consider different market structures. We also discuss topics of information and market failure. The main objective of the course is to understand how markets work. Prerequisites: Principles of Microeconomics (Econ102 or equivalent); Math125 and Math234 or equivalent are recommended. While knowledge of calculus is not a formal prerequisite for the course, elementary differential calculus, as well as algebra and abstract reasoning will be used frequently throughout the lectures.
