Timothy Martens Database Management February 12, 2007 What is a web application server and how does it work from a database perspective? Discuss and compare at least three web application servers. What websites did you visit (list your URLs). A web application server is a server that accepts requests and returns content.  For a database this means that it may be queried for the same exact data hundreds of  times in the same day depending on usage. a RSS feed reading website that I have created as a hobby it  allows a user to add or remove newsfeeds feed depending on their likes. All additions  and subtractions as well as the feeds themselves are stored in a backend database.
