This yields x 1 = 70/3, x 2 = 10/3, and z = 230/3. Since solution is feasible, it is optimal. 5d. Optimal solution occurs where x 1 + 2x 2 = 40 and 2x 1 + x 2 = 60. This yields x 1 = 80/3, x 2 = 20/3, z = 280/3.
