Critical thinking as the ability to dissect an idea, argument or set of beliefs and use reason/logicto evaluate information or evidence to reach a conclusion (“College Success”, 2010 p. 106).However, after diving deeper into why employers believe that both graduate and undergraduatestudents lack the ability to think critically my understanding has changed.I believe employers are awfully justified in believing college students lack the critical thinkingskills needed for their positions.What happens typically in college institutions (primarily inliberal arts departments) is that students are in fact not taught to think critically despite commonbelief.
