The capacities of the structural members are as follows: the column element a has plastic flexural capacity of 150 units and very large axial capacity, the girder elements b and c have flexural capacity of 120 units and very large axial capacity, the brace element has plastic axial capacity of 30 units. You are asked to determine the collapse load factor λ of the two cases for the given loading. To do so proceed as follows: 1.
