Review for Final Listening examples: 1. “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.” Sung by Kitty Wells. See the info on review sheet “non-rock postwar popular music(s)” and in the book (450). 2. “It’s Mighty Dark to Travel.” Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys.” Earl Scruggs on banjo. Review material pertaining to this example on 451-53 in the book. 3. “Talk About Jesus.” By Thomas Dorsey. Sung by Marion Williams. Review “Black Gospel Music” on “non-rock postwar popular music(s) and 457-58 in book. 4. “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag.” James Brown. See review sheet “African- American Music in the 1960s” and 485-87 in the book. 5. Einstein on the Beach , excerpt. By Philip Glass. See the book, 507-08. Note: on the review sheet for Minimalism and Postmodernism, material in [brackets] does not pertain to this exam. Because there is not a lot of new material, I think the review sheets give you as much focus as you need. Use the reviews with your notes and the book pages noted above and in the review sheets and you should be plenty prepared.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
