ACCT Final Terms Additional paid-in-capital – The difference between the total cash received and the par value when stock is issued. Treasury Stock – When stock is issued by a corporation, then bought back and not retired. Issued Shares – The number of shares sold or distributed to stockholders. Stock Dividend – Retained Earnings decreases and additional shares are distributed to stockholders. Convertible Preferred Stock – Stock that includes the privilege of allowing the shareholder to exchange preferred shares for a specified number of common shares at his or her option. Cumulative - Preferred stock that confers the right to receive dividends unpaid from prior years. Long term Liabilities – A liability that is due to be paid at some time later than within one year of the balance sheet date. Current Asset – An economic right or resource that is currently benefiting the firm. Current Liability – The present claims of creditors against the assets of the business.
