The basic control process: o Begins with the establishment of clear standards of performance o Involves a comparison of performance to those standards o Takes corrective action, if needed to repair performance deficiencies o Is a dynamic, cybernetic process. o Consists of three basic methods: feedback control, concurrent control, and  feedback control. o Control isn’t always worthwhile or possible. 2. Describe the elements of the balanced scorecard. The balanced scorecard focuses not only on financial outcomes but also on the  operational, marketing and developmental inputs to these, the balanced scorecard  helps provide a more comprehensive view of a business. The elements of the  balanced scorecard are: o Finances o Customer perspective o Internal operation
