ME 305 Fall-2009 Due Oct. 27, 2009 Asif Sabanovic 17:00 PM HW#1 In this homework you will look more deeply to the operation of the switching matrix, and you will learn how to select modulation functions (average command signals for switches in the switching matrix) in order to generate wanted output of the converter. The analysis will be taken assuming steady state operation of the converters. Through this homework you will have an opportunity to determine the structural similarities of the commonly used converters and investigate the common properties of the selection of the modulation function. Question 1 The switching matrix for DC-to-DC converters has a form as shown in Fig. 1. All sources and switches are assumed ideal. Both structures act the same way on the dependent variables on the output and input sources.
