Accidental reinforcement results in superstitious behavior Intermittent consequation makes a behavior VERY, VERY DIFFICULT to extinguish. Variable interval or variable ratio schedule – a lot of constant behavior – very difficult to extinguish. Consequent events: 1. Reinforcers 2. Punishers 3. Extinction (EXT) is a NON-EVENT Satiation-deprivation continuum The nature of the consequent events . Functional nature of the consequent event, NOT WHAT THE EVENT ACTUALLY IS. Premack principle (OFFICIAL DEFINITION) - If one behavior occurs more often than other behaviors, then the opportunity to engage in the most frequently occurring behavior will reinforce the less frequently occurring behavior.
