Technology s Technology: “The knowledge people employ to make and use objects” (Haviland1997). s Technology can be define as the particular domain of human activity immediately aimed at action on matter. s Techniques ( material culture) are embedded with all kinds of social relations, practices, and representations. .

s Techniques always have a systemic aspect ( Gille 1978). s Every particular technique involves five kinds of element- matter, energy, artifacts, gestures, and a special knowledge ( or set of representations)- and these elements interact. If one is changed, then other will change. s Many technologies in a given society are connected to each other.
