Answer 1: Scale reading will increase by the value of buoyant force. When we immerse the block into the water, there is a buoyant force from the water to the block. Accordingly, when two bodies interact, there is an equal downward force from the block acting on the water.

Answer 2. According to Bernoulli’s equation p+ ρ v 2 /2+ ρ gh=const, hence the larger the speed the smaller the pressure (at a constant height). It is also clear that since the water slows down while flowing from the right to the left, it is the force due to pressure difference which is responsible for it.
