Unformatted text preview: UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION BAI 150 COURSE SYLLABUS UD SBA MISSION : The School of Business Administration is a learning community committed in the Marianist tradition to educating the whole person and to connecting learning and scholarship with leadership and service in an innovative business curriculum designed to prepare students for successful careers in the contemporary business environment . COURSE TITLE : BAI 150, BUSINESS EDUCATION PLANNING TERM: Fall Semester, 2009 (August 26 through December 18, 2009) CLASSES MEET: Section BAI 150-01: Monday & Friday: 2:00-2:50 p.m., Miriam Hall 119 (OLeary Auditorium). Five evening sessions are also scheduled and at least four meetings with Peer Advisors are required. (See class schedule in Attachment 1 for specific dates and topics.) {Peer Advisor meetings will be scheduled by each Peer Advisor.} CREDIT HOURS: One (1) PREREQUISITE(S): None INSTRUCTOR: Prof. John W. Shishoff, CPA, CGFM Director, Undergraduate Programs School of Business Administration STUDENT ASSISTANTS: Ms. Maria Elking & Ms. Pembroke Strickland ADVISORS: Your SBA Center for Academic Success advisor is listed on the seating chart and your faculty and SBA Center for Academic Success advisors are listed on your degree audit (a.k.a. advising report). PEER ADVISORS: Your peer advisor is also listed on the seating chart. Course material will be drawn from information on the web, and from Off to College, 2009 ed. and Business Week. This Syllabus and its attachments, assignment instructions, and all SBA curriculum presentations will also be available online. SUPPLEMENTARY A great deal of additional material will be distributed during presentations MATERIAL: throughout the term. COURSE This course provides an introduction to the School of Business DESCRIPTION: Administration (SBA) and the University of Dayton.
