Bring book notes Recommended: print outs ¡ Bring book, notes. Recommended: print outs of homework programs, programs we did in class. Assignment ¡ Due tomorrow night. After the course ¡ You know how to write programs sophisticated enough to do real work. ¡ Lots of real work requires you to use specialized modules. ¡ Modules contain new functions. ¡ Modules also usually contain new data types! ¡ These are called classes. ¡ It’s important to know a little bit about classes to use modules you find on the Web wisely. Example: the Tkinter module ¡ Used to define Graphical User Interfaces. ¡ There are better GUI modules, they’re mostly complicated to use. ¡ Let’s make a window ¡ Let s make a window. ¡ This is Chapter 10, but I’m using it as an excuse to discuss Chapter 9....
