UAV Design Project The design project for this course is an autonomous UAV Your design will be judged on: Aircraft performance & stability Your design must meet the required performance specs and stability margins. Designs that fail to meet performance and stability requirements will be severely downgraded, regardless of the source of error. Autonomous capabilities: Your aircraft must complete its mission autonomously, except for takeoff and landing Design optimization. Weight and cost are to be minimized while still meeting the requirements Additional considerations Credibility or reasonableness of your design from a manufacturing, cost, and sales standpoint Customer appeal of the final aircraft.

UAV Design Project The class will be split into teams of 4, each team will design their own aircraft. – Your group is responsible for determining how best to split up the responsibilities between team members, however each team member should participate in each design task, as the team is jointly responsible for the overall design. – One team member should be elected as team spokesperson and will be responsible for emailing weekly progress reports.
