To make mad or insane. 3C: to irritate, bug 3D: In order to try and get Terry to fail his assignment, he demented him. 4A: “We are gradually benumbed ” (107). 4B: verb . To make numb; deprive of sensation 4C: to weaken 4D: Because of frostbite, my hand was benumbed and I couldn’t feel any pain.
