ECE 425 Digital Signal Processing September 24, 2009 Fall 2009 Homework 4 Assigned: September 24, 2009 Due: WEDNESDAY, September 30 , by 4:00pm in the 425 lock-box on the 2nd floor of Phillips Solutions will be posted on the web page by 4:30 pm Goals & concepts: Understanding sampling in both time and frequency, analysis of systems which include sampling. . 1. Sampling, aliasing, and how those samples look in time. Consider a CT signal given by . (a) What is the minimum sampling frequency for this signal? What is the corresponding sampling period? (b) With sampling period as computed in (a), sketch the CTFT, the non-normalized DTFT, and the DTFT. Give an expression for the resulting DT signal. (c) Take the sampling period to be half of that which you computed in (a). Sketch the CTFT, the non-normalized DTFT, and the DTFT. Give an expression for the resulting DT signal. Compare your expression with that from (b) — you should observe that some of the components are the same, but arise from different CT cosines.
