I think that in “ Womanhood a Vital Element in the Regeneration and Progress of a Race ,” Cooper believes that a women's past is not their doing, but their future is theirs to control, if they reject ignorance and accept higher goals, acquiring higher education. She also warns that intellectual weaknesses in the nineteenth century is an element to the institution of slavery but a century later will be used as proof of natural inferiority. For African American women, Anna Julia Cooper supports intellectualism with the balance of Christian qualities, indicating that a strong moral structure must go with an in-depth knowledge of arts, sciences, business, and social work. Copper just wanted everyone to have the same rights. Her theories were not just thoughts in her head; they were a bit more vital.
