Week 6 Discussion Questions 1. Which character from this week’s readings did you find the most intriguing? Why? I think that the most intriguing story that I read this week was; How it feels to be colored me. My guess is that the character in this story was the author herself, Zora. I found her to be intriguing because she talked about her race and the color of her skin, like I have never heard anyone speak about it before. Zora talked about white people and how they just passed through her little Negro town. It’s just crazy that people had to think like this in the twentieth-century. I’m sure that even now, some people feel singled out like this, but I would hope that the world is getting better than this story that I just read. Zora said, “I feel my race” I have never heard this expression before. She goes on to say that “Among the thousand white persons, I am a dark rock surged upon, and over swept, but through it all, I remain myself.” That is a strong statement.
