Unformatted text preview: Week 7 Discussion Questions 3. What are some themes common to this week’s readings and why are they important or relevant? Explain and give examples. I think that there are a couple themes in this week’s readings. The first one would be the strength of a woman. This is shown thought the readings this week especially in, In Search of our Mothers’ Gardens and The Moths . Another common theme this week would be relationships and how women grow with experience. I think that this has been a common theme in all of our reading in this class. Here are my examples: In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens by Alice Walker the theme is the enduring resilience and strength of women. Walker examines women's ability to become artists, in this case particularly, black women who were denied, among other indignities, the means to learn to read and write, or express themselves in any way.
