Multivitamin Review The current one multi-vitamin that I take daily is Rexall multi-vitamin Stress Formula Energy Metabolism. When taking this multi-vitamin daily my body receives the essential B Vitamins that plays a major role in energy metabolism, supports the nervous system health, and provides nourishment for the stress of daily living. Moreover, it supplies the body with important Vitamins C and E for antioxidant and immune system health. After reviewing the information label of the multi-vitamin, all the ingredients meet the daily recommended intake for adults with the exception of one. The water-soluble vitamin, Niacin is well above the recommended dose of 14-16 mg NE a day. This multi- vitamin contains 100 mg of Niacin in a daily serving. Some of the consequences of toxicity are flushing of the skin, a tingling sensation in the hands and feet, a red skin rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, high blood sugar levels, abnormalities in liver function, and blurred vision (Grosvenor & Smolin, 2006, p.247). Therefore, taking Rexall multi-vitamin Stress Formula Energy Metabolism daily increases a persons intake of Niacin to toxic levels, which causes serious adverse effects to a persons body.
