1Executive Summary This first group assignment for Module Alpha: Perspective, Planning and Implementation has been prepared for discussion purposes only and based on the case study entitled “A MIDSIZE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY (JENNIFER CHILDS) – (CLEMENTS & GIDO)”. The purpose is to respond to three questions relating to the case study.The discussion document does not fully comply with the requirements of the full assignment submission and no conclusions or recommendations have been made. The PMBOK Guide, Sixth Edition (2017) outlines the three specific documents that should be used to solicit proposals from potential suppliers. These are outlined below: Request for information (RFI) - The RFI is utilised when more information on the goods and services needs to be acquired from a service provider. It will typically be followed by an RFQ or RFP. Request for quotation (RFQ). An RFQ is normally used when more information is needed on how vendors would satisfy the requirements and/or how much it will cost. Request for proposal (RFP). An RFP is required when there is the project problem statement and solution is not easy to conclude. This is the most formal of the “request for” documents and has strict procurement rules for content, timeline, and service provider responses. Answer1: Yes, Jennifer’s verbal request would be sufficient as a Request for Proposal (RFP) as it is addressed internally within the organisation to her own staff.
