AbstractMost people admitted to the substance abuse treatment programs are Caucasians.Substance abuse among the Whites is higher than the national average and it iseven higher than any minority group within the country.For that reason, there is need to determine effective policies in treating substanceabuse among Caucasians.Nevertheless, few scholars have investigated the prevalence rates substanceabuse and effectiveness of treatment options among Caucasians.Therefore, the proposed study will use literature review as well as conceptualmodelling to analyze data from Substance Abuse Services and data found on thedischarges of people from publicly funded Substance abuse treatmentorganizations in four states.
Background InformationAccording to Jones (2017),over 60 percent of people admitted to thesubstance abuse treatment initiatives are Caucasians.These findings by Jones (2017) indicated that substance abuse is highestamong the Caucasians with 57.7 percent of these people reporting alcoholconsumption.In fact, Moreno, Janssen, Cox, Colby, and Jackson (2017) observed thatsubstance abuse among the Whites is higher than the national average and itis even higher than any minority group within the country.
