Ballantine seem credible): Detective’s preparation for his “hit man” role (anticipatory socialization): Watched movies, read books and magazines- did a lot to prepare to be the role. Preparing now for a role that you will be playing in the future. People bought it because he acted like the movies portrayed hitmen. People believe in what they see in the media.
