According to Worldometers (2019), the population of Ethiopia is a little over 113 million people. Out of all those people, the ones living in the rural areas struggle with scarcity the most. Many of these people that live in the rural areas must travel by foot for hours to get access to safedrinking water. Clean, non-contaminated water is the one thing Ethiopians needs the most. Water.org (2019) suggests, 62 million Ethiopians lack access to safe water and 97 million lack access to improved sanitation. Of those who lack access to improved sanitation, a staggering 23 million practice open defecation.”Ethiopia’s society should take the water that they have collected and then attempt to sanitize it first such as boiling it over a hot flame in order to kills many germs to make it safe to drink and cook their food with it.
