I also covered similar healthcare issues in my post, including healthcare reform between the different presidents, affordable insurance coverage, and the increasing pharmaceutical costs. You included some excellent points in your post, but I will add some further information regarding Trump’s approach to the issue. In addition to repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or Obamacare, Trump’s agenda has been to “allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns, [which] would eliminate advance premium tax credits, and allow individuals to use pretax dollars to purchase individual market insurance” ( Saltzman, E., & Eibner, C., pg. 2). Trump has taken action to decrease health insurance premiums and deductibles by enforcing competition between state lines, which will give Americans more options to multiple insurance plans, and choosing the one most affordable for them.
