Ridley Scott's 2007 classicBlade Runner the Final Cuttakes advantage oforange and blue contrasts, an animal motif , and a wide variation of blinding lights in a dark world in order to illuminate the struggle between identity throughout this miraculous film.Blade Runner the Final Cutfollows the journey of a retired Blade Runner Deckard, a Blade Runner has one job, to “retire” rouge Replicants. Replicants are Humanoid organisms based off of the memories of past humans, these Replicants are sent away to a surrounding planet to perform slave labor that benefits their creator, Mr.Tyrell and the people of a polluted and decrepit metropolis. Deckard finds love after meeting Rachel an unsuspecting Replicant, while on a mission to take down four of the world's most powerful Replicants. These four Nexus Replicants have escaped their planet to take revenge on their God. Ultimately Deckard completes his mission and escapes with Rachel while discoveringthe truth of his own identity and the mortality of a Replicant. Scott uses orange and blue lights in order to symbolize the battle between Replicants and humans in a futuristic metropolis. A fire orange tint is given to nearly all the scenes populated with replicants. The only times this is not true is when Replicants are showing a large amount of humanity, then the shot is given a blue tint.
