It gave background information of the man that created the alphabet, and why it was important to the speaker that it was created.2.Apply the process of public speaking by identifying the (1. message 2. channel 3. people 4. feedback 5. noise.)The message was to show how important one-man dedication to make the alphabet for the Cherokee people helped save her great grandfathers life. Not only did it allow Cherokee Indians to communicate in more than one way. The speaker channels her speech ina mediated or mass communication technology way. She uses her eye contact and her personal connection to channel to her speech. By the speaker's performance I don’t think she was preforming in front of an audience.
