July 2, 2019 4MKTGA PHILO 107 The Les Misérables film showed a reflecting perception from us, the film viewers, which made us question and reflect on many morality principles of the film. The question of the film is that who among the characters were moral and who were legal? But I would like to emphasize what does moral mean. From what I understand of its meaning in the book “Ethics” by Mr. Apolinar Fernandez, moral having the same meaning with ethics, implies the dealing with the good, bad, right, or wrong behavior of a person. The part of the film that was shown to us focused mainly on the life of Jean Valjean and how it revolved and affected those who he encountered with. Although Jean Valjean was guilty of the crime stealing and repaid his debt through hard labor, his growth after his prison life proved that in the film, he was the moral one who stood out among other characters.
