Introduction Understanding the responsibilities within an organization is very important for human resources consultants. This task will highlight a variety of knowledge, skills and attributes that are essential for human resources consultants to perform their work on a regular and systematic basis. The task will also discuss the benefits of professional development plan and the importance of training and development to improve employee performance. In addition, this assignment will analyze the concept of high-performance working and its impact on employee performance related to collaborative working, communication and performance management. This assignment will make Hightown Housing as our target company. Hightown aims to help those who need new housing, but their current financial situation is not helping them. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing services to people of all backgrounds. Its headquarters are in Hertfordshire and are currently active in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Berkshire. The Hightown Housing Association currently manages more than 6,000 units and employs more than nine hundred employees. They establish a vision of housing for all the homeless because they believe that owning a house is a fundamental right of all. Hightown Housing Association respects the individuals who come to them (Hightown Housing Association, 2019). They also promote the choice and independence of stakeholders. For them, one of the most valuable assets is the human resources available to Hightown. They implemented a profitable strategy. However, they clearly stated in the manual that they would not damage the level or quality of service.
Development Portfolio About a year ago, I was really interested to do job as a human resources advisor for the Hightown Housing Association. The role of the HR adviser there is to provide the management team with the necessary advice on hiring and human resources practices. After the first year, they ask people to evaluate their performance over the past year, and they should continue to develop their skills to provide better performance for the organization. The BOG (Body of Governor) of the Hightown Housing Association will perform the final evaluation of their self-assessment. In this part of the assignment, I will evaluate my performance and develop a development plan to improve my skills and knowledge in the future if I wish to go there. Appropriate knowledge, attributes and skill required for a HR Adviser Each position has unique responsibilities. To perform these tasks, a specific set of skills is required. In this sense, human resources consultants are no exception. But having skills is not enough. You must have your own skills and knowledge.
