Describe several workplace discrimination issues that you would think are important to understand as a manager. What laws have historically governed these issues in the United States?There are a lot of ways that discrimination can be practices in an organization. Employees can be discriminated against for their outer appearance or even things like religion or sexual orientation. One of the things that I see the most is discrimination against women. The organization I work for has headquarters outside of the country, in their country women are less likely to hold higher title positions. That same belief often translates into the American workforce. It is common for men in the company not to want to discuss certain issues with women or to prefer for a man to hold certain positions within the company.
