Both UPS and FedEx belong to the Global courier and delivery industry. Together, this industry
provided the service of delivery by air, water, land, express services of parcels, documents to
customer all over the world. This industry does not include the standard mail services. The main

United Parcel Service
UPS was founded in 1907 in the United States. It provides transportation services and logistic
services across the globe. It has many divisions and subsidiary like UPS airlines, UPS freight. The
company is traded in NYSE and is headquartered in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The main area of
focus for UPS is small packaging delivery. It primarily serves retail customer and small business
for their small package delivery.
FedEx
FedEx is an American delivery company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The name
FedEx is an abbreviation for Federal Express which is companies air division. It is traded in NYSE
as FDX. The company officially began its operations in 1973. FedEx has a system specifically
designed for time sensitive shipments.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
What measures can United Parcel Services take in order to increase its global market share and
make a presence globally.
