Unformatted text preview: Thora Alcendor Article #4 The main hypotheses of the article was that the authors wanted to see if observations could be used as a form of program evaluation in the Bully prevention programee, if the BPP reduce observable bullying behavior, and how do lunch and recess observation data compare to the BVQ (Bully-Victim Questionnaire) data. The authors used one study to achieve their results. The study used six different elementary and middle schools in a large, urban school district; the school participated in a 4 year BPP. The schools ranged in enrollment from 456- 1295. 76% were students from low income families, predominantly minorities (81.8 % African- American and 9.6 Latino). The authors contracted an independent evaluator to perform all observations done at the schools. The evaluator was allowed to intervene while observing if they saw an increase of bullying behavior.
