Are you really measuring the concept you intend to be measuring? III. Assessing Validity (Lecture notes only for validity, no book info.) A. Face Validity: (easiest, most often used) 1. The measure look/sounds good “on the face of it” B. Content Validity: 1. The measure captures the full range of meanings/dimensions of the concept. C. Criterion/ Predictive Validity: 1. The measure is shown to predict scores on an appropriate future measure. Ex. HS GPA
