ASE 311, Spring 2009, Homework 1 Due: Fri. Jan 30, 5 PM, ASE 311 drawer on the 3rd floor. Show all work, including any M-files you have written or adapted. You can use the command diary or diary(’hw1.txt’) to record your Matlab ses- sion, but please clean-up the output to make things easier on the grader. For example, please be sure to clearly label what the problem is and the solution, and please dont include stuff like: x*x+1 ??? Undefined function or variable ’x’. Make sure your work is clear and readable - if the TA cannot read what you’ve written, he will not grade it. I will post some guidelines by Monday Jan. 26 about making proper plots and putting comments in the code you write - both will be (a small) part of the grade of each question on homework throughout the course. 1. Problem 4.3, pg. 109 2. Problem 4.10, pg. 110 3. Problem 8.2, pg. 209. Please do this problem by hand and show ALL work. You may check your answers with MATLAB.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
