Moving Against Malaria Mobile Medical Clinics Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes. Although it is preventable and curable, one child dies of malaria every 30 seconds. About half of the world’s population is at risk of malaria, especially those living in lower- income countries. According to the WHO, malaria can cut the economic growth rate by as much as 1.3% in countries with high disease rates. Mission: Moving against Malaria is a comprehensive malaria control program that aims to combat and to overcome the high rate of malaria morbidity in the flood-prone regions of Tanzania through its mobile medical clinics, which achieve its goals by providing at-risk populations with:
