List the steps required in a typical ATM transaction, such as drawing out cash or transferring funds from one account to another, and briefly explain why each of these steps is necessary. Use a table to organize your response. Input Process Output Importance Insert card into ATM ATM reads strip on card and identifies is as a legitimate BoA card. ATM prompts you to input PIN. This step is necessary for the ATM to determine that the card scanned is actually a BoA debit card. Input PIN ATM sends PIN to Bank Database (not located at ATM, but at the physical bank) for verification. A list of transaction types are listed for you on the screen. Although you may be carrying a legitimate BoA card, the ATM will not allow you to access the account without inputting the correct PIN, which assumedly verifies that you are the correct cardholder.
