Believe in universe of gods c. All ‘rings’ ‘womb’ of natural world i. Worship here and dance II. Taos Pueblo Dance= mystical and religious experience a. Returns each to center of being b. Fundamental link between Nat Am and cultural/historical/ancestral world c. To dance= create possibility of rain i. Harmonize ones physical being with spiritual world ii. Prayer iii. How one speaks/thanks to god d. How they sustain themselves =committed to ritual e. Controlled by drummer (drummer precedes dance) i. New beat every year ii. Elders re-choreograph dance at each event 1. Measured by number dancers/singers; richness
