Hello everyone, Here’s my summary for the lecture on Friday. In this lecture, I described the two remaining fundamental building blocks of an effective organization: organizational structure and leadership. We first talked about structure. Structure addresses the following questions, among others: What should the organization look like? How should the work be divided up? Who works with whom? The structure the organization affects employees’ behavior . You want to structure the organization in such a way that people focus on the things that matter most and coordinate their actions so they work together effectively. The particular structure you choose is dictated by what you are trying to accomplish. The principle at work here is, “structure follows strategy.” Whatever your business strategy is, your structure has to support that strategy. Using Ben& Jerry’s Ice Cream as an example, structure will change as the strategy of a business changes There are four tools for structuring your organization appropriately.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
