Minutes of the Economics group The economics discipline group met twice, once in the south in November and once in the north in January. Both meetings, based on the full agenda prepared by the faculty lead, generated lively discussion of major concerns from community college, CSU and UC faculty. 1. Building on the comments and strengths of last year’s meetings, the southern group had considerable discussion on the learning objectives (goals) and student learning outcomes established last year. The discussion focused on the difference between a list of course contents and learning objectives and the evaluation of learning outcomes. We will return to this topic during our May statewide meeting when additional material will be brought into the discussion. I will be asking Mark Maier (Glendale Community Collage) to guide our discussion. Our articulation officer provided background on the CSU LDTP and the C-ID the new numbering system for community college courses to replace the CAN descriptors.
