Questions supposed to be answered in 2-4 sentences: should be a very direct answer to each of them Some are as easy as 1 sentence answers Sample questions are a lot more broad than the ones on the test Most specific thing is a quote that he hasn't said in class, have to identify who said the quote and what they were talking about Augustine says God a lot in his passages - think about main points in the discussions in lecture - the main point will be something in lecture WE can draw pictures on the exam but explain with words Main topics on exam Iching believe that there is a crossover spectrum, they continually flow back and forth and communicate with one another - there is a constant interaction between the two sides - nondualism For Cartesian thinking, there is no connection at all between mind and body, they don't interact at all - there is no spectrum - dualism Dualism leads to being able to see things objectively - leads to being able to use science in our world, empirical knowledge, to talk about things in our world Also leads to an impediment that Descartes says that allows science to occur - if you are completely cut off from the rest of the world and your objective is to observe the world, there is no way to observe the world because you cannot observe the world - all Descartes can do is use his logic
