The human body as a biological basis for freedom Given the way the human body is, because of the void/vacuum, we can read all this in upright posture - emptiness in our hands is analogy - seeing as if we are separated from everything Language is a tool, sense of self is tool Sense of openness that comes to us through our biological structure - the body is mindful - the brain isn't all that thinks We have mind and body, they always go together - Not trying to say that it is determining everything that we do, there are limits, but they are extraordinarily flexible - we decide our ends/goods Predisposes us to create these ends in a particular context all the time, ultimately o=that context is our body - the blind spot of all our perception - it is always there, entering into everything that we see/do Genesis Books 2-3 The mind is already there in the body Genesis presents a number of answers to questions that are implicit How is it that we have to work and labor for a living? What is the relationship between humans and the earth? What is the relationship between men and women? What is the relationship between man and other creatures? What is the relationship between parent and your marriage? What is the relationship between man and clothes? Man's moral nature
