THE THREE-STEP WRITING PROCESS Everyone will be exposed to a variety of communication assignments some time during their career, both oral and written. A few responsibilities a presenter will encounter will be more difficult, involving reflection, research, and careful document preparation; others will be routine, needing little more than writing down a small number of sentences on paper or keyboarding a short e-mail message. The amount of business messages is greater than ever, continuing daily, each one challenging for the audience's attention. Therefore, the messages must be buoyant, easier to read, more to the point, and more attention grabbing than ever before.
