After my analysis, I can confidently say ALLTEL Pavilion has an exciting competitive advantage. Compared to other concert venues in the Triangle and eastern North Carolina, ALLTEL can promise a quality experience to every patron who visits their venue. In addition, ALLTEL has state of the art “acoustics and video” and offers one of the most “beautiful, technologically advanced, and successful amphitheaters in the world.” With these qualities, and as the only outdoor venue in the area, ALLTEL, has a competitive strategy of differentiation and uniqueness. Given a strategy of differentiation, ALLTEL must focus on some key success factors in order to achieve the goal of continuous annual growth in operating income. Firstly, it is important for ALLTEL Pavilion to be masters at marketing and advertising. Their success with marketing is directly correlated to the success and profitability of the pavilion overall. As advertising costs are increasing, ALLTEL Pavilion should consider increasing their advertising and marketing expenditures in the future.
