A) Las Casas’ writes about the massacring of the Indian people of the Spanish colonies of the New World. He describes how the Spanish created a sense of false hope with Indians who came to think of the Spanish as angels sent from heaven. The Spanish used this false hope to gain power and with this power came corruption. This abuse of power was definitely not the true Christian thing to do, but the power the Spanish had over the Indians probably went to their heads and created these problems. These problems included enslaving and murdered countless numbers of Indians. Both of these acts were definitely un-Christian. This brings up the point of whether the trips to the New World had any point of having religious roots or not. It might also possibly be the fact that power does lead to corruption. Either way, Las Casas’ found the acts of the Spanish in the New World to be appalling and totally unjustified. B) Latinos bring energy and more devotion to the Catholic Church. They show
