Design of an interior flat plate Fy=420MPa F’c=28MPa Weights acting on a slab for interior zone are: D.L: partition=250 kg/m 2 Tiling=200 kg/m 2 L.L: Surcharges=250 kg/m 2 1. Minimum Thickness: L1=3.65m L2=2.3m Column dimensions are: 20*25 cm Interior Panel : α=0 Ln=3.65-0.25=3.4m (clear distance between columns) Min h =ln/33 (from table 9.5© -ACI 318M) -For fy=420 MPa and interior panel: Min h =3.44/33=0.10303 m=103 mm<120 mm - l 1 /l 2 =3.65/2.3=1.58<2 And from ACI code ,section 9.5.3.2: Min thickness for slab without drop panels is : 120 mm ok Assume h=160 mm 2. Check For Shear: -Determine depth required for shear (using d for shear equal to the estimated average of the d values in the two directions): D=160-20-10=130 mm Wu=1.2(250+200)*9.81+1.6(250)*9.81=9.2214 KN/m 2

---Checking for one-way or beam shear : V u1 = (1570/1000)*9.2214=14.4775 KN= 14477.5 N (for 200 mm width) ACI 318M(11.3.1.1) =34394.76 N >14477.5 N ok ---Checking for two-way or punching shear around the column:
