Abstract
In this paper I am going to be talking about an action plan for working in the school
setting as a third party.
When setting up an action plan for entering a school you have to make
sure to gain a relationship with the staff and administration there. It can be a difficult task but
very rewarding for the outcome of the intervention plan. When working as a behavior analyst you
have the goal to develop more independent and socially appropriate behaviors for the children
you will be working with. A lot of the children that we work with will be in classrooms for a
majority of their day most days of the week. We have to build those relationships with the staff
and administration working with the students during the day. Just like it is important to build
rapport with the parents to share information it’s the same with instructors. The reason for an
action plan is to plan out and consider all of the steps that have to come together to make the
process complete.
Action (in order of the
actions)
People Involved in the
action
Support from the material
discussed in class That
supports the action.
Research Th School before

administration
How the school operates and
interviewing administration
and staff.
Visit the school
Behavior Therapist. Teachers

Finding out the school culture
and their policies. Getting a
meeting with the principal and
the teacher
Interact with IEP Program
IEP Team, parents, general
education and special
education teacher, program
case managers, specialists
etc.
After the eligibility then the
development of the IEP would
be developed. The team would
be put together that would

When
the members of the IEP meet
they will discuss concerns,

the response to the students’
needs that need to be met
(When the IEP team Meets,

Maintaining Relationships

Knowing everyone
communication style. Making
sure we are in constant
communication.
I would show
my openness in collaboration
in what we need to do to make
sure the students’ needs are
being met I would create and
action plan to create an
environment of cooperation
among differences of opinions.
