UPDATED FALL 2019 U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL PUBLIC RELATIONS GUIDELINES FOR LEED ZERO-CERTIFIED PROJECTS Congratulations! Your project is joining a select group of sustainable and innovative buildings that are LEED Zero-certified. If you’re looking to tell your building’s story, here are some ideas to help get you started: DISTRIBUTE A PRESS RELEASE Once you’ve earned LEED Zero certification, go ahead and make it known! A press release template, sample quotes from USGBC and other resources can be found below in these guidelines. HOLD A CERTIFICATION CEREMONY Looking for a USGBC representative to speak or present a certificate for a LEED Zero certification ceremony? Complete the Speaker Request Form and a member of USGBC’s sta ff will follow up with you. Contact the USGBC marketing department to request a certificate to signify your accomplishment. UPDATE YOUR PROJECT’S PROFILE IN USGBC’S DIRECTORY All public LEED-certified projects have a profile in USGBC’s online project directory . For certified projects, this page is an opportunity to explain important project details, illustrate significant performance stats, and share other best practices to highlight your company’s leadership. Make sure to include your LEED Zero certification in your project profile! USGBC promotes these profiles on social media, in articles, and if media asks for examples of certain types of projects. The USGBC communications department can work with you to build out your profile. Submit information through this online form to get started. JOIN LIVING STANDARD A higher standard of living starts with a higher standard of storytelling. Be a part of USGBC’s Living Standard campaign and tell us how you are making a di ff erence! Your story could be shared on social media and the website. Share your story here.
